Canadian’s Islamic Community and First Nations Tribes Negotiate Yemen’s AQAP Crisis

Members of multicultural Canada, its First Nation’s Tribes and Islamic community have initiated a discourse on the Yemeni crisis. They have drafted a proposal in effort to establish a round table discussion on the issue of AQAP’s presence in tribal areas. With Canada’s proficiency in tribal* dispute resolution and as a world pioneer in Alternative Dispute Resolution, the members hope to negotiate methods of counter terrorism with policy makers in Yemen. This includes the active participation of Yemen’s tribes as mediators with respect to their autonomy. And as this Canadian project stresses, “not only is a tribally generated, constitutionally based and fully representational democracy under the leadership of a mutually acceptable sovereign what the tribes and people of Yemen are demanding, it is also the only ‘Muhammad approved’ model of government in the history of Islam.” This proposal is currently a working progress, but includes great insight and suggestions to a topic that is currently on the minds of all, including the international community.
